Here's a preview of my new style - textural dye effects, carved edges, hammered leather, rivets and a few Steampunk inspired shapes. I wanted to achieve the look of carved wood. I adore the whole Steampunk genre. My father designs full size steam engines, and was instrumental in rescuing many of them from the scrap-heap in the 70's, so I guess I've grown up surrounded by it. It's kind of a natural progression for me and I'm looking forward to making more like this.
masks and steampunk... two of my favorite things! This is just amazing!!

I've been looking for good examples for steampunkmasks, and after a few hours of surfing, this is the most beautiful steampunk mask I have come across. Skillfully done!
There are all sorts of different tools for putting rivets into leather, depending on the type of rivet. Your local leather supplier would be best able to advise you which one to get - depending on your project. And then you basically punch a hole in the leather where you want the rivets to go, and hammer the two parts together.
