My latest designs have been inspired by butterfly wings. I started out by wanting to create a Painted Lady mask - then after some searching around the internet, I became enthralled with the fabulous Blue Morpho butterfly, the Luna Moth, and the Madagascan Sunset Moth, among others. They truly are amazing creatures.

I spent some time trying to imagine how I could turn these fabulous natural designs into masks while avoiding the whole 'a giant insect has just landed on my nose' look, and this is the result.

As ever, something that looked really pretty as a sketched design on paper has taken on a rather more gothic feel as it became transformed into a mask. I really don't know how I do it.

Gorgeous!!!! LOVE the blue/black motif. Your butterfly theme turned out excellent and I adore how you worded that, "avoiding the whole 'a giant insect has just landed on my nose' look..." *chuckles* Great job!!:)
